The Physiotherapy Unit in the Reference Hospital Okene has marked its day with free medical services.

The focus for this year’s World PT Day is low back pain (LBP) and the role of physiotherapy in its management and prevention.

Head of Physiotherapy Dept., Dr Oluwole Emmanuel Shaji, while addressing patients who turned out for treatment, said Low Back Pain can be caused by various factors and spoke on what should be avoided in such situation.

He also stressed the need to consult a Physiotherapist when experiencing low back pain.

Head of Administration Hajia Rabiat Sheidu, in a remark, urged the people to take advantage of the Reference Hospital Okene to assess qualitative healthcare from professionals.

The state Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapist was represented at the event by the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Sharafadeen Hamza of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja.

Many patients turned up and were attended to.
